The home of Claude Holeman, my mentor.
“Hand me that wooden box, the old one with the Japanese writing on the lid. Open it for me. Untie the white silk ribbon, take off it’s top. Now carefully open the saffron silk bag inside. I have had this vase since 1953, it took me one year to pay for it. I would take it out once every three months. I would hold it, admire it, and put it back into the saffron bag and back into it’s box. It has not seen the light of day for 57 years. Take it…it is yours. When you get home, take it out and let the light shine on it.”
